In direct alignment with the social development principles of its shareholder, Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A., the national oil company of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, CITGO is dedicated to expanding access to health care among the most needy through the Simón Bolívar Foundation.

The Foundation pays for medical treatments and related expenses for critically ill patients from Venezuela requiring cancer treatments, reconstructive surgeries and other specialized treatments, including bone-marrow and liver transplants. In addition, it provides hearing aids and prosthetic devices for low-income, hearing impaired patients.
