We support organizations and programs that strive for social development in the South Bronx.

Such programs empower South Bronx residents through hands-on learning and job training.

The programs also inspire environmental advocacy by educating youth about the importance of clean environments.
Since 2007, CITGO and our charitable organization the Simón Bolívar Foundation® have offered grants to numerous non-profit organizations committed to social development in the South Bronx, N.Y., the poorest congressional district in the United States. These organizations provide services in the areas of education, health and nutrition, environmental justice, and arts and culture, all with the common goal of improving the living conditions and outlook for the region's residents.
Our Bronx Social Program has benefited more than 211,000 people across the region. By training thousands of residents to become civically engaged in community change, our resources have changed lives from teaching English as a second language to supporting adults with securing their General Education Development (GED) and providing access to fresh foods.
