CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – July 1, 2014 – Beginning today and continuing through August 1, CITGO Petroleum Corporation is accepting applications for the third year of its Hands for Hillcrest Grant Program.

In 2012, CITGO pledged a three-year investment of up to $1.5 million in local non-profit organizations serving the Hillcrest community in the crucial areas of education/job skills, health, and the environment.

“We are encouraging all eligible non-profit organizations to apply and be a part of this initiative aimed at revitalizing this historic neighborhood and improving the quality of life in the area,” said CITGO Corpus Christi Refinery Vice President, Sonny Loudon. “As a long-time neighbor and provider of more than 1,000 local jobs in Corpus Christi, we recognize our social investment must begin in our nearby community.”

The CITGO Corpus Christi Refinery generates more than $625 million per year in support of the local economy through salaries, services and taxes. In addition to producing high quality fuels for its network of nearly 6,000 independently owned and operated CITGO branded stations across the country, Corpus Christi refinery employees make a major positive impact on the community.
