"I want to thank all the supporters and friends of the CCTL who took the time to vote in the CITGO Fueling Good contest. Our budget is very tight, and fuel is one of our biggest expenses every year. Our Bookmobile—a small library on wheels that holds approximately 3,000 items—travels to rural communities throughout the year to provide local library service," said Kegler.

Since 1941, the CCTL has provided free library service to rural farm communities in Columbia County. Its Board of Directors and 50-member Friends of the CCTL group organize annual book sales and fundraising events to keep the Bookmobile on the road. This year, the CCTL is partnering with Rohrbach's Farm Market to combine story time with creative projects aimed at getting the little ones reading. Each month, the CCTL Bookmobile makes 75 visits to 40 locations, including local schools, Head Start programs, fire departments and senior centers.

"We don't have an endowment, so every single donation counts. The CITGO Gift Cards will help us visit more towns and save for a new Bookmobile; our vehicle turns 18 years old this year," Kegler added. "Reading is fun for all ages. We also offer e-book and wireless technology; this is not 'your Grandma's Bookmobile'."

The Friends of Columbia County Traveling Library (CCTL) is a separately incorporated 501(c)(3) organization that supports the CCTL's mission. The CCTL is committed to providing the best materials and services possible to all residents of the farming communities in Columbia County, Pa. for their enjoyment, education, and enrichment.
