BANGOR, Maine, Nov. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- From Nov. 7 through Nov. 9, local CITGO Marketer Daigle Oil Company and CITGO Petroleum Corporation celebrated the grand re-opening of Daigle Oil Co.'s full-service DOC's Place CITGO on Stillwater Ave. while giving back to local charitable organization the Ronald McDonald House of Bangor. The CITGO location has been closed since September for renovations, including the replacement of its underground tanks.

The grand re-opening weekend featured discounts including two cents off each gallon of gas at the pumps and half-priced Gold car washes. Moreover, 10 cents of each gallon purchased on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Bangor, which offers short-term accommodation for families whose children are receiving treatment at nearby medical facilities. On Sat., Daigle Oil Co. offered door prizes throughout the day, including CITGO Gift Cards, car wash coupon books and an iPad Mini. DOC's Place CITGO also had free beverages and snacks available onsite, and a total of $1,200 in CITGO Gift Cards was given out in $10 denominations to customers who purchased twelve gallons of gas or more.

Over the course of 2013, nearly forty percent of patients at the Ronald McDonald House of Bangor came from Aroostook County. Many families make eight-hour round trips to utilize the services of the Ronald McDonald House of Bangor. Each year, the fourteen-bedroom House is a "home away from home" for approximately 450 families who must travel to seek treatment for their seriously ill or injured children. In addition to providing homelike, temporary lodging for families of seriously ill children, the Bangor Ronald McDonald House administers services beyond housing to families to improve the lives of children.
