SHEBOYGAN, Wis., Jan. 31, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- CITGO Petroleum Corporation and local CITGO Marketer Quality State Oil are proud to once again sponsor this year's Q Mart Shamrocks Against Dystrophy fundraiser to support the local Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) chapter. From Feb. 1 through March 17, customers at participating Q Mart stations can purchase paper shamrocks to benefit MDA. As part of this year's campaign, Miss Wisconsin and local MDA Ambassadors Myranda Gereau and Allison Naze will visit three selected Q Mart locations on Feb. 22 to support the cause.

"We are very excited to continue this tradition in our Q Mart stores and to support MDA for another year," said Scott Stangel, wholesale marketing manager at Quality State Oil. "We are honored by the response from our customers last year. Their generosity makes us proud and seeing MDA Ambassadors like Myranda and Allison remind us how important these programs are."

During the promotion, customers are encouraged to purchase $1 Green or $5 Gold MDA shamrocks at participating Q Mart locations. Local community members can also get involved by "Liking" the "Q Mart Shamrocks for MDA" Facebook page to be automatically entered for a chance to win a $25 CITGO Gift Card.

The proceeds raised through the Q Mart Shamrocks Against Dystrophy campaign will stay in the community. The local MDA Chapter will use the funds to send children from the area to the MDA summer camp and to support MDA research and physical therapy consultations. MDA is a voluntary health agency working to defeat muscular dystrophy through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive services and far-reaching professional and public health education.
