Sulphur, La. – January 15, 2015 –CITGO Lake Charles Manufacturing Complex (LCMC) employees offered their support to the Southwest Louisiana community during this holiday season, donating more than $8,600 to local charities and families.

CITGO employees prove their commitment to the SWLA community every year by giving, especially during the holiday season. Because of employees’ donations, the residents at Boys Village received more than $2,400 in gift-cards as Christmas presents. CITGO also provided a Christmas party for them, which included a meal and fun games with CITGO employees. Part of the gift-card funds for Boys Village were donated by the CITGO Lab employees, who raised a grand total of $1,800 to divide between Boys Village and Toys for Tots. The Lab has raised money for local charities since 2001.

CITGO Safety Directors also collected toys and more than $3,600 in donation for Toys for Tots. CITGO Vice President and General Manager LCMC Tomeu Vadell said CITGO employees demonstrate true leadership through their authentic generosity. “Our employees prove their leadership every year through the generosity and compassion they reflect to the community around them,” Vadell said.

Since 1990, the CITGO LCMC Maintenance, Inspection and Reliability Department Supervisors have supplied Christmas presents for families in the Southwest Louisiana community. This Christmas, they adopted eight families through Calcasieu Community Services and collected $1,700. The proceeds were used to purchase gift cards and Christmas presents for the families.
