CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas  – Aug. 24, 2015 – CITGO Petroleum Corporation’s Corpus Christi Refinery will continue to aid Charlie’s Place Recovery Center, one of Texas’s largest nonprofit, residential drug and alcohol treatment centers, as host of a charitable benefit on August 29 at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi.

“This will be the 12th year that CITGO will be supporting an annual fundraising event with Charlie’s Place, and we couldn’t be more proud of our relationship,” said Doyle Dommert, vice president and general manager of the CITGO Corpus Christi Refinery. “This year, many CITGO employees are proudly volunteering at the fundraiser, as well. Charlie’s Place is helping to turn lives around every day by overcoming the cycle of addiction.”

The CITGO Corpus Christi Refinery has worked closely with Charlie’s Place for several years. In 2009, CITGO donated $1.5 million and an estimated 2,000 volunteer hours to move Charlie’s Place to a larger facility. Charlie’s Place, which has provided addiction recovery assistance since 1965, is now able to accommodate up to 2,200 patients every year. Partly in recognition of this support, CITGO was named Corporate Partner of the Year by the Texas Homeless Network in 2009.

“We are extremely grateful to CITGO for its generous long-time support of Charlie’s Place and the important work it is doing to rebuild lives affected by drug and alcohol addiction,” said Amy Granberry, chief executive officer of Charlie’s Place. “‘This fundraiser promises to be a fun and wonderful evening that will benefit countless Charlie’s Place patients and family members.”

This event, which is Charlie’s Place’s largest annual fundraiser, will feature Las Vegas-style acts and food from local restaurants. To purchase tickets for the benefit or for more information about sponsoring the event, visit http://charliesplaceonline.com/.
