New Orleans, La. – March 13, 2018 – CITGO Petroleum Corporation held an executive networking social on Monday evening after the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) Annual Meeting in New Orleans, La. Industry executives and elected officials attended the reception for an evening of engaging conversation, Southern-American-influenced cuisine and relationship building.

“The annual AFPM meeting is truly the premier industry event,” said CITGO Vice President of Refining Jim Cristman. “This year was no exception and we are so pleased to not only attend, but also to be one of the main AFPM sponsors and host our own post-event reception.”

The annual AFPM meeting brings together key executives, technical experts and inspiring personalities from throughout the refining world. The various panels, presentations and breakout sessions keyed in on several important industry themes, including the impact of the 2017 hurricane season, regulatory issues, the use of big data and emerging technologies, and process safety. The CITGO reception was one of nearly 25 complementary hospitality functions put on by companies in conjunction with the annual meeting.

“We work in a diverse and supportive industry,” added Cristman. “Never is it more apparent than the annual AFPM meeting. I am always amazed at the degree of cooperation and advocacy of mutually beneficial industry projects. CITGO is an energetic member of the refining community with a long history of success and we, along with our refining colleagues, look forward to a productive, and even more successful 2018.”
