HOUSTON, February 22, 2024 -- Expanding its support for community engagement and STEM education, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo attendees will see CITGO Petroleum Corporation in two key areas at this year’s festivities: the Agricultural Robotics Contest and Rodeo Acts of Kindness.

CITGO is the first-ever official sponsor of the Agricultural Robotics Contest, where junior division and senior division contestants will demonstrate their engineering and problem-solving skills as they build a robot to perform a series of rodeo related tasks.

“We launched our STEM Talent Pipeline to inspire students to pursue degrees in science, technology, engineering and math,” said CITGO Vice President Human Resources and Support Services Kresha Sivinski, “and the Agricultural Robotics Contest is a fun way for even more students to explore STEM education.”

CITGO is also providing more than 60 volunteers for Rodeo Acts of Kindness, a community event celebrating the spirit of generosity and community service. Rodeo attendees can expect their acts of kindness from CITGO volunteers on March 13, as they clean up food areas, take photos of guests and reward good deeds with giveaways.

Sivinski continued, “our corporate headquarters has called Houston home for nearly twenty years. We care deeply about this city. Spreading acts of kindness is one way we can show our appreciation.”
