HOUSTON, February 23, 2026 – CITGO Petroleum Corporation is excited to announce its continued support to sponsor the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Agricultural Robotics Contest for another three years starting in 2026.
CITGO began sponsoring the contest in 2024 and is the first-ever official sponsor of the Agricultural Robotics Contest, where junior division and senior division student teams from schools around the state will demonstrate their engineering and problem-solving skills as they build robots to perform a series of tasks related to the theme “Fun at the Rodeo Carnival.” This year’s robotics contest takes place on Wednesday, March 18, in NRG Arena.
“Sponsoring the robotics contest reflects CITGO’s commitment to supporting STEM education and inspiring students to see what’s possible,” said CITGO Vice President, Human Resources and Support Services Kresha Sivinski. “Hands-on programs like this bring STEM learning to life and encourage students to pursue future careers in these critical fields. It’s also fun to watch the students collaborate, build their robots and put them to the test on the challenge course.”
In addition to sponsoring the robotics contest, CITGO is also providing volunteers for Rodeo Acts of Kindness, a community event celebrating the spirit of generosity and community service. Rodeo attendees can expect acts of kindness from CITGO volunteers on Tuesday, March 17, as they clean up food areas, take photos of guests and reward good deeds with giveaways.
