More than 342,000 beneficiaries in 2024 and over one million lives impacted in five years

Houston, 30 October 2025 – The Simón Bolívar Foundation Inc., CITGO Petroleum Corporation’s 501(c)(3) nonprofit, private foundation, today announced the release of its 2024 Annual Report, reaffirming its commitment to transparency, accountability, and its mission to improve the health and well-being of the most vulnerable populations affected by disasters, conflict and poverty, with special attention to mothers and children.

In 2024, the Foundation committed $6.14 million to high impact and NGO grants, in addition to $867,124 in conditional grants. Through these grant agreements, the Simón Bolívar Foundation will benefit more than 342,000 vulnerable individuals through the delivery of more than 430,000 medicines and vitamins, 184,000 meals, and strategic partnerships with academic and health institutions to strengthen local capabilities.

Since 2020, the Foundation has transformed the lives of more than one million people across 12 countries through humanitarian health initiatives directed at vulnerable communities, with a special focus on supporting mothers and children. Its work has also included capacity-building and knowledge-transfer programs that have helped empower community workers and healthcare professionals.

The Simón Bolívar Foundation has signed more than 100 grant agreements in five years for the development and implementation of high-impact programs that have significantly expanded its reach. “It has been a journey of learning, adaptation and success. In just a few years, the Foundation has significantly increased its impact by strategically focusing its efforts and resources,” added Andrés Padilla, Member of the Board of Directors of the Simón Bolívar Foundation. This is the fifth consecutive Annual Report published by the Foundation as part of its commitment to transparency, accountability, and strong corporate governance.
