Recruitment Fraud

It has come to our attention that unauthorized individual(s) have used the CITGO Petroleum Corporation name and logo to solicit advance fees and/or personal information from potential employment applicants about jobs that do not exist. These fake recruiters often request that the employment candidate send money to pay for residence and work permits or other processing fees; or seek personal information from the candidates, such as name, address, social security number, etc. CITGO does not ask job applicants for fees at any point in recruitment or hiring process, nor does CITGO use recruitment or placement agencies that solicit such fees. In addition, CITGO will not seek your personal information via e-mail, or chat conversations, and will only utilize secure means to transmit that information, if necessary.

Generally, these unauthorized requests or communications come via e-mail, or chat conversations, from accounts that are not associated with CITGO. All e-mail communications you receive from CITGO employees should be from an e-mail address that ends with "". It is best practices to investigate and make certain any sharing of information is sent to the intended party. Any e-mail about a job at CITGO or seeking information from you that does not end with "" should not be responded to, but can be forwarded to for further investigation.
